As a husband-wife team, Karl and Shannon Plattner bring a breadth of knowledge and a plethora of skills to the home-building business. They believe superior custom home building starts with careful attention to the customer and continues with open lines of communication.

Having lived in the Lake Norman area for more than eight years, they have excellent knowledge of the region, home prices and values. They have a passion for creating homes that will last for generations and seek to achieve energy-efficiency through utilizing the latest green building techniques.

From framers to painters to carpenters, each trade partner is thoughtfully selected to provide the best overall result. We work hard to maintain exceptional relationships and inspire the best work possible.

Karl
Karl's great-grandfather and grandfather began building custom homes decades ago. He is proud to carry on their tradition of building quality homes and providing the highest level of customer service. Not only does he have his NC Unlimited General Contractors license, but he also holds his Master of Business Administration degree from Wake Forest University.

Prior to creating Plattner Custom Builders, LLC, Karl owned and managed a handyman and remodeling company. He is extremely hands-on with every step of the homebuilding process and enjoys educating customers. Having managed multi-million dollar projects during his corporate experience, Karl excels at organization and process management.

Shannon
Shannon holds her NC Real Estate License and has a passion for home design and décor. She brings the eye for detail to the team and coordinates color and styles selections for Plattner Custom Builders. Keeping a pulse on the latest trends in home building, Shannon enjoys helping customers meld their personal style preferences with the latest products.

Working as a professional counselor in the past has well-equipped Shannon for listening to clients and assisting them with the sometimes overwhelming process of building a home.

The Plattners have two sons, Jacob and Colby. They are all actively involved in their church and also enjoy outdoor activities and local cultural events.
